The best things in life make you sweaty.

That's when we connected with Aaron Downey, former NHL player and founder of Aaron Downey Training Methods. Together, we designed and built our own custom hot and cold therapy space, incorporating innovative features like fold-up benches to maximize functionality and make the space adaptable for both relaxation and recovery-focused activities.

Our sauna became a central part of our daily routine and, almost immediately, friends and family started asking the same question: "Can you build one for us?"

As interest grew, so did the idea that this could become something bigger than our own backyard project. We partnered with longtime childhood friend David Hopkins – a fellow sauna enthusiast and owner / operator of a successful landscaping and construction company – and, together, founded Sauna Cycle Company.

We've been sauna lovers for years but, like most people, were limited to occasional spa and gym visits - dealing with crowds, high prices and limited functionality. When we rented a sauna for a family experience, everything clicked. We quickly realized that hot and cold contrast therapy was something we wanted to make part of our everyday lifestyle.

The problem was, we couldn't find a sauna that matched our vision.

Today, we help people create custom sauna and wellness spaces that bring the benefits of hot and cold contrast therapy home. Built on real-world experience and quality craftsmanship, our mission is simple: to help people recover better, feel better, and create more meaningful moments with family and friends.

We had a clear vision for something more functional - a versatile space that could handle traditional relaxation and friend gatherings, but also serve as a serious recovery tool for yoga, weight lifting, and post-workout stretching. This was particularly important as I was deep into Ironman training and relying on sauna and cold plunge as my go-to recovery tool to prevent injury.

We also knew we wanted it to be built with beautiful, natural Canadian materials and quality craftsmanship. There's something special about supporting local artisans and knowing your sauna is built to last with materials that can handle our harsh Canadian winters.

When we couldn't find exactly what we envisioned in any store, a friend connected us with Aaron Downey, former NHL player, and founder of Aaron Downey Training Methods located in the Bruce Peninsula. Together, we were able to design our own custom hot and cold therapy space, complete with innovative fold-up bench design to maximize the space's versatility. We couldn't be happier with how it turned out.

Our friends & family fell in love with it too, quickly wanted their own, and that's when the Sauna Cycle Company Came to life!

Our goals are simple:

(1) Introduce more people to the benefits of hot and cold contrast therapy through our education and sauna rentals.
